I did this layout for a friend of mine as her "baby shower" gift. I'm incredibly slow now-a-days with scrapbooking, so it only took me 3 weeks to complete this! I wanted to give her something unique though, so I asked her if she would be interested in a layout for the wall. I'll put this in a frame and give it to her.
I love this picture of her daughter. I loved the old fashioned tone of it as well. I used Basic Gray Capella paper. I know it's "wedding" paper, but I thought it worked wonderful with this photo. I used a tearing ruler from years ago for the torn edges, then inked them.
I cut the umbrella, dress form and title with my silhouette. Most everything was sprayed with Perfect Pearl mist. I stickled the edge of the umbrella with frosted lace. The letters were inked then stickled with glitz tiara. I distressed the chain for the hear charm by sanding and inking with picket fence distress stain. The chain on the key is part of a small gold chain I found in my jewelry box.
The roses were dipped in melted UTEE thanks to a tip by Tim Holtz on his May tag. I think they came out really cool, except I wish I hadn't used a pearl mixative in it.
I made the flowers in this grouping myself. I didn't use any tutorial, just found some pretty pictures of the Prima flowers and tried to copy them a bit. The black flourishes and tiarra were cut with my silhouette. The bling is by Prima. I used the Heartfelt Creations stamp for the leaves, I hand cut them, then shaped.
I'm really happy with how this turned out...one of my faves I've ever done! I sure hope my friend likes it as much!!
